The Blood Orange and Basil White Balsamic is made with basil and organic blood oranges from Sicily. We first infuse the white balsamic with fresh basil, then add the basil-infused white balsamic to organic blood orange peels in the bottle. The result is a white balsamic vinegar with an explosive orange taste and a hint of basil.
Our white balsamic gourmet flavors are made using our accolade-winning white balsamic aged in oak barrels for 4 years. Then, we add natural flavors that perfectly compliment the delicious white balsamic. Trebbiano & Malvasia grapes are first pressed and the resulting grape juice is slowly simmered over a kettle for 36 to 72 hours to concentrate the flavor of the grapes and the sugars in the grape juice. The resulting syrup is aged in tightly closed oak barrels for 4 years to preserve the natural straw yellow color and combined with wine vinegar for the perfect balance of sweet and sour.
Recipe suggestions: Adding the basil blood orange white baslamic to Prosecco makes a wonderful slightly sweet aperitivo. We've really enjoyed finishing grilled or broiled chicken and pork with a drizzle over the top. Adding it to a thinly sliced fennel salad with orange segments is very nice. Of course it makes a great salad dressing especially with our award-winning Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
